Peak District pictures. The Peak District, situated in the middle of England, is a beautiful national park of rolling hills, dales, plateaus, wild moors and grazing sheep who just don't care. This photo gallery covers two hikes: one between two villages in the northern part of the national park, Edale and Hope, including the ridge walk from hilltop crossroads Hollins Cross via the dramatic Back Tor (tor means rocky hill) to Lose Hill; the second hike was taken in the forests around the incredible town of Matlock Bath (where it's not that surprising to find an eatery advertising 'Fish & Chips' as the 'Day Special').
