Warsaw

Warsaw pictures. Warsaw is the capital of Poland, and although it has a rich heritage of architecture, much of the city was destroyed during WWII, and many faceless blocks were built in place of destroyed old houses. This means that Warsaw's face is much less characteristic than that of Prague or Budapest, but fortunately the city's old town has been beautifully restored. These pictures show you the old town (more specifically, the atmospheric Old Market Square) and a huge stone skyscraper, the Palace of Culture and Sciences, located in the middle of the city.
