High Tatras pictures. This picture gallery introduces the High Tatras (Vysoke Tatry) mountain range in Slovakia (an area also known as the Tatra National Park). The High Tatras are the only high mountain range in Eastern Europe, offering great hiking opportunities and stunning sceneries, especially in winter when the higher territory of the Tatra mountains is frozen and seems to be in a dormant state.
