Wales

Wales pictures. Wales is a country of stunning natural beauty, and this gallery offers a peek into the landscape of its Brecon Beacons National Park, a wild and remote area whose map - with place names like Blaenglyn and Bryn Du - looks like it was taken from a fantasy novel. The photos were taken on the route that leads from Storey Arms up to the ridge of which Wales's largest mountain, Pen y Fan, is part of (unfortunately the ridge itself was enclosed by clouds at the time, making photography impossible). The most striking features of this area are Pen y Fan [pen-ee-van] ('Summit of the Hill'), its twin peak Corn Du ('Black Horn') and the spectacular glacial tarn Llyn Cwm Llwch ('Dust Valley Lake').
